Every heart beats true for the red, white, and blue…..

Independence Day is nearly here so I decided to do a bit of decorating to celebrate. Of course, this meant a contortionist visit to my under house storage where the July 4th things were way in the very back behind boxes, bags, etc filled with every other holiday….

This year and time in our country has been the most difficult in so many ways in my memory. The Coronavirus has been and continues to be so stressful and scary. So many unknowns, more questions, than answers. It is just a quagmire of uncertainty. Add to that the race issues; riots in the streets, historic memorials being torn down willy nilly, already taxed police departments being defunded. Then of course, the weird presidential election. Never have 2 candidates been so completely and totally opposite, neither choice feeling particularly tempting.

So, I figured why not double down and throw up a bit of holiday cheer. After all, the bottom line is we are all Americans. Whether black, white, gay, straight, democrat, republican, religious, secular, etc etc. We are so truly fortunate and blessed to live in this extraordinary country enjoying all the many freedoms we take for granted. Warts and all, this is the best thing going on the planet earth and these tough times will pass as they have before.

May God in all his mercy bless the United States of America!
